Accessibility

SCAFLI aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA across this site and the workspace. If something does not work for you, email hello@scafli.com and tell us what you were trying to do. We will answer and fix it.

What we do

  • Every button and link can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Text can be made larger from the accessibility menu, and the layout holds at 200% zoom.
  • Motion can be turned off in your device settings, and SCAFLI respects it.
  • Pictures carry the word they stand for. Nothing is spoken out loud unless you tap the speaker.
  • The pages SCAFLI makes use plain headings and readable type, and print in black and white.

What is not finished

PDFs made from SCAFLI pages are printed pictures of the page, so screen readers cannot read them yet; the on-screen version of each page can be read by a screen reader. We are working on tagged PDFs.

About the pictures

Most pictures are SCAFLI's own. When ours does not have a word, a board can use a symbol from the Mulberry Symbols, a free open set made for AAC. Some pictures: Mulberry Symbols by Steve Lee are licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. See mulberrysymbols.org. mulberrysymbols.org · CC BY-SA 4.0. Every board that shows one prints this credit.

Photos you take or upload stay on your device. They are never sent to SCAFLI.
